Where the fish are...
Bass:  We will have pictures of Cathy's fish on the web site soon! GREAT FISH! The smallies are biting very lightly and the largies are being very aggressive. Try the rock shoals and points for the smallies and the weed beds in 8' to 10' of water for the largemouth. Honey Harbour, Moore's Point, Sucker Creek have all been good areas..
Top Lure:   Tube jigs, 10" or 8 1/2 " Prowler worms, Mad Man Craw Tubes
Walleye:  The walleye have started to roam around Midland Bay. The Red Can, TRW, along the elevator have all been good spots. Dew worms or leeches are the ticket! Cast to the wall or drift the weed edges in 10' to 20' of water.
Top Lure:  worms. leeches, deep diving crankbaits
Pike:  Lots of big fish reported in the last 2 weeks. Casting as well as trolling have been great techniques. Sucker creek, Penetang Bay, North Bay and Methodist Is. Rapalas trolled or casted.
Top Lure:  Rapalas, Leverage spinnerbaits, Bang-o-B's
Muskie:
28' to 40' drop offs close to shoals are where those 'skys are hiding!! Try trolling with big body baits in the Muskosh.
Top Lure:    Bagley Bang 'o' b's

Trout/Salmon:  Captain Bill George of George'n Charters is providing us with our Trout/Salmon report.
The Salmon fishing is starting to pick up. Christian Is., Methodist Pt., Stony Pt. have all been good areas. There have been some catches reported at Ginn Rocks already too. 90' over 120' with any spoon with blue on it have been putting fish in the boat.

Evening fishing in "the triangle " has really picked up. Every night this week we had a fish on after 15 min of trolling. Thur. night in the space of 1 1/2 hours we had 4 on and landed 3 ranging in size from 14 to 23 pounds.Big fish caught by John Pankiw 23 lb 4 oz.  Methodist produced the most action. The fish were hitting NK 28 monkey puke and NK Mag blue and green, about 80 feet down in 90 feet of water.
Take Care, good fishin'
John Forgie.
Top Lure:  NK28's Monkey Puke, Metallic Blue - almost anything with blue on it!! Lyman's - blue/white or white with black ladderback.

Lure of the Week:

The largemouth have been very aggressive and BIG! as Cathy's fish shows. Size your bait up quite a bit to get those bigger fish - try the Prowler 10" or 8 1/2" worm in your favourite colour. They are lighter than the Berkley Power Worms, the colours are brighter and to top it all off...they're cheaper! What more could you possibly ask for?!
