12.30 lb Pike Shelly Riddey
4.26 lb Walleye Bob Stange
1.13 lb Perch Scott Jones
1.23 lb Crappie Peter Lo
Where the Fish are and How to Catch 'Em!
Pike: The Pike action has been great,
Penetang Bay, Hoggs Bay, Sturgeon Bay, Six Mile Lake. This is
where Shelly took the 12 lb pike (picture to follow). SMALL
minnows or jig spoons are the key. Depth ranges between 8' and
12'. Good Luck!
Top Lure: 3" to 4" Emerald Shiners, Williams Jig Spoons
Perch The Perch have been biting well in both Penetang Bay
& Hoggs Bay. Midland Bay is just getting going but with the action
in the other two bays, it should be good in Midland soon!
Top Lure: Gypsi Jigs, Tear Drops & Small Emeralds
Walleye: There have been a few walleye taken out of Hoggs
Bay & Midland Bay already this year. Jigging with a large emerald
shiner is about your best bet! Try tipping up one of the new
Northland BuckShot Spoons
Top Lure: Northland Buck Shot Spoon & Emerald Shiner
Herring: Before the ice breaker came in Midland Bay was
producing some nice herring (3 lbs) and there was the odd
whitefish in with the mix! Now that the Bay is freezing over
again, it won't take long for the herring/whitefish action to
start up again!
Open 7:30 am to 6:00 pm Monday to Friday
