Where the fish are...
Bass: The bass have been good this season - a little hard to find though. The water temperature has been down from other years even with all the sunny, hot weather. A lot of the fish are still in shallow - 5' to 8' of water. Weed & rock combo seems to be where they are hiding out. The largemouth seem to have taken for cover already. Try your favourite dock, lily pad or slop bed with a Texas rigged tubebait and hold on. Honey Harbour, Green Is., Penetang Bay have all been great areas.
Top Lure: Prowler Green Pumpkin/Candy, White, Green Pumpkin/Chart
Walleye: The walleye are still being caught down in the Waubashene, Sturgeon Bay & Marshall Is., area. Changing your technique from harness to rip jig fishing may boat you a few more fish. Jig colours in the yellow, black and pink have been working best. 10' to 14' of water in the weeds seems to be the best place.
Top Lure: Jig & grub, worm harness, Strike Pro crankbaits.
Trout/Salmon: The trout/salmon action has been spectacular. Any of the areas around Thunder Beach out toward Christian or Beckwith Is., have been great. Reports of fish coming from 140' right up to 40' of water! Find the bait fish and you will find the big fish. Even the rookie downriggers are catching fish which is a good sign!
Top Lure: NK Holograms, Nasty Boys, Wasp Prisms

Congratulations to Terry Crawford and Brian Berriault Jr. for finishing second at the Georgian Bay Invitational and to Larry Bourgeois and Bryan Berriault Sr. for their fifth place finish. Both teams have now automatically qualified for the GM Goodwrench Provincial Qualifier to be held in August. Also, congratulations to Brian Berriault Jr. for his 1st place finish in the Gloucester Pool event!
