Where the Fish are and How to Catch 'Em!
PIKE: The weeds are
starting to come up so the fish have some cover. Find the weeds,
find the fish. Lots of reports of fish caught in Hoggs Bay,
Sturgeon Bay, North Bay (Honey Harbour) and Go Home. Still fishing
with live bait & casting have both been successful
Top Lure: Sucker minnows, William's Spoon, Husky Jerk
WALLEYE: Same deal here. The weeds are starting to grow so
it is giving those "eyes" somewhere to hide. Your best bet is slow
trolling or drifting with a worm harness or I had some great
fishing with a couple of split shot and a floating jighead. Good
places: Sturgeon Bay (west shore), Methodist Is., Midland Shoal
and the Hillbank marker! (check your map)
Top Lure: Worm harness, floating jighead, husky jerk (night
fihsing)
TROUT/SALMON: The Trout and Salmon are starting. Good
reports have come from Methodist Pt., Stoney Pt., & the west side
of Christian Island. Fish are still deep 70' to 90' down over
120'-140'. Spoons & body baits have both been working. Keep your
speed in the 1.5 to 2.5 mph range.
Top Lure: Lymans, NK28, Prizm Spoons
