Where the Fish are and How to Catch 'Em!
PIKE: The fishing has
been great. Most of the fish have been in 8' to 12' of water. Slow
presentation seems to be key. Jerkbaits or a stop-and-go retrieve
with a minnow bait has been producing. Try Hoggs Bay and the Honey
Harbour area.
Top Lure: White Husky Jerks, Bagley's minnow baits
WALLEYE: Lot of fish over the slot!!! Waubaushene has been
great with the water temperature starting to climb, the fish are
starting to move. Sturgeon Bay, Methodist Is., Snake Is., and
Midland shoal have started to produce some fish as well.
Top Lure:Floating jighead and leech, worm harness,
silver/blue rapala. (NOTE: We have LOTS of components in stock to
make your own worm harnesses and Backwater custom worm harnesses
in stock)
RAINBOW TROUT: The guys are still flatlining at Balm Beach
and area for Rainbows. The fish seem to be in water between 18'
and 40', a little shallower at dusk. Body baits are still the way
to go. Ripplin Redfins are my pick for the best bait to troll with
at the beach.
